Coincidence, like waves in the ocean, toss the three this way and that, until suddenly a most unlikely destination is arrived at - a destination that none of them would have dreamed could exist, where two women can love one man, and he can give them both what they need emotionally and physically.

Can't Beat Bob

This book is really great. Once I read my first book by Lubrican I ended up buying 27 (yes, I counted) more of his books. His books are fun and sexy. Who can resist a man who "makes loving fun". I guess I am officially a fan. Try it. You won't be sorry, but your pocketbook might.

Stepping beyond the social envelope

This was another great book by Robert Lubrican that drew erotic images within a believable story. The hero in this tale is a heartbroken young man who just stumbles into the purview of an attractive widow and her precocious daughter. What develops in this titilating encounter is a permanent relationship that pushes the envelope of mutual trust, love and sex! A well-thought out plot with exciting twists that you wonder how the author will resolve. And 'resolve' he does with graceful, but humorous aplomb. A memorable and delightful read.

About Peter Lawford: Some Stories Better Left Untold.....

"The Peter Lawford Story: Life with the Kennedys, Monroe, and the Rat Pack" (2015) is recalled by Patricia (Seaton) Lawford Stewart the 4th wife and widow of actor Peter Lawford (1923-1984). This is a very interesting look at old MGM Hollywood, the Kennedy family that embraced Lawford as their own through marriage, fatherhood, and the "keeper of secrets". Lawford was in serious decline from years of heavy alcohol and drug abuse when he met Seaton by chance, she was 17 years old.

In the late 1970's "On the Rocks" was a private intimate dance club above the Roxy Theater on Sunset Blvd. The dance floor could accommodate two couples, the bathrooms large and elegant enough to contain the rampant cocaine use during that time. Lawford arrived at the club with Ringo Starr and Keith Moon, spotting Seaton who was there with a girlfriend, sent them a bottle of champagne. Yet their story was not one of love or Hollywood romance: Deborah Gould, Lawford's then wife was present, and dismayed when Seaton left the club wordlessly with her husband, spending the night with him at the Playboy Mansion.

Not surprisingly, according to Lawford's biographer James Spada in: "Peter Lawford: The Man Who Kept the Secrets" (1991) Lawford wasn't in a hurry to divorce Gould. The root cause of Lawford's numerous problems were likely due to the interference of his cold indifferent mother Lady May, who never hesitated to undermine her only son or his career fabricating untrue stories and rumors. Peter loved his four children and had the highest regard for the Kennedy's (he was divorced from Patricia Kennedy in 1966) but was unable to parent his children in a constructive manner, leading to severe disappointment and estrangement. Christopher Kennedy Lawford wrote about his life in: "Symptoms of Withdrawal: A Memoir of Snapshots and Redemption" (2005).

There were several interesting stories involving A-list celebrities. Frank Sinatra refused to perform in a Las Vegas club as long as the Lawford's were present in the audience. It was unclear why Seaton disclosed how she concealed illicit drugs when the couple traveled to a foreign country, there was enough candid storyline without a sordid detail as this. Overall, Peter Lawford is better remembered as a distinguished handsome talented actor-- also for his legacy to the Kennedy's through marriage and fatherhood.

Engaging Read

Engaging book. I read it in a few sittings, uncommon for my reading habits these days. This paints quite a sad portrait of the actor. Factual errors, including reporting Cass Elliot's death by choking on a sandwich are present as pointed out by another reviewer lead one to question the accuracy of the work. I will be looking up some details regarding his burial, and disinterment in regards to the Kennedy family.

To the world Peter Lawford appeared to have it all, but it wasn't true. He was sexually abused as a child and it seems he lived a lifetime reliving it, became an abuser of sex, alcohol, and drugs in the process. The book details not only his life but the people around him, celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, John F. Kennedy, Frank Sinatra. Interesting book but sad. Sometimes it's better not to know so much about a person, even if we love to hear all the salacious details of a tragic life.

This is the most complete and impressive book I have seen on probability, combinations, and statistics coverage for the GMAT. This book is extremely powerful and is the most comprehensive collection of questions:
- 110 Total GMAT-like questions
- 73 Exercises/Drills

!!! Warning: as with any powerful object, it can be dangerous in the hands of a fool. You only need this book if you are scoring above 47 or 48 on Quant. If you are below that level – focus on other areas instead!!!

The book does a fabulous job of covering all relevant concepts and identifies the less relevant clearly. I like how it is broken out into lesson, skillbuilder, and homework sections. I would say you can probably get a pretty good grasp of the material in 2 days and cover a quarter of the questions in the book. However, don’t get carried away – you can easily spend a month on this book and chances of you encountering more than 2 of these questions, even at level 50, are not high. GMAT is about prioritizing time and resources in both preparation and your test – use your time wisely!

*** Bottom line: If you are preparing for the GMAT, (scoring over 45 in Quant) and need extra help, this book will get you there. Outstanding set of prep books

Best GMAT book for combinatorics and probability, bar none. These books are written so cogently and with such empathy for the way the reader might be consuming the information. Really really excellent. I ended up buying all of them. I haven't even taken the test yet and I can tell they have helped me significantly.

Excellent explanation of combinatorics

I was a bit skeptical in spending almost $20 on one subset of math problems, but given my lack of exposure to these types of questions, I took the plunge. What I found was that this book easily transitioned from basic properties of combinatorics to more complicated problems while explaining each step along the way. I would venture to say that many of us don't use functions such as permutations on a day-to-day basis, but this book provided the skills to answer these questions. While before the book, I was lost in solving these problems, I now feel confident in being to find the solution to most. The books provides ways to identify each problem (i.e. combination, permutation with restrictions,etc) and gives formulas to solve them as quickly as possible. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their quantitative score on the GMAT.

This is a "Must Read" for anybody who has any ailments related to degradation of your neural system. Virtually all of your organs have glutamate receptors, so the ailments/symptoms could be varied and widespread. This includes Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

If you suspect you have any ailments that are related to degradation of your nervous system, stay away from MSG and ASPARTAME -- and the hundreds of related substances. Almost all processed foods have msg, aspartame, and/or other "hidden" variations of these chemicals. You can easily find the names of these hidden substances on the web. And you can find the brand names that are the worst offenders. Hint: canned soup is one of the top offenders.

Whatever you might think about Dr. Blaylock, the scientific information in this book has been checked and verified by qualified and distinguished chemists. His reports about Aspartame, MSG and other chemicals COMMON to many, many of our food and drink choices are alarming to say the very least. Diet Colas seem to be more widely drunk than water these days. If you even occasionally have a diet drink of any sort, it would be a smart idea to read this book and then reevaluate your decision.

Finally, a Clearly Written, Reader-friendly Textbook!!

Organized, Concise, Relatable, Readable. Vocabulary Myths is THE model textbook. Folse's book is written in language that is "fluff-free." Two of the strongest attributes to this text is its user-friendly layout and its ability to be informative, yet concise. Each chapter is filled with useful information, reliable sources, personal experiences of the author directly related to each topic, and practical pedagogical recommendations. Most chapters are under 15 pages and the font is larger than most texts, which makes for a more enjoyable, engaging read--students will never feel "bored" or frustrated while reading the text. As a graduate student, I wish more textbooks were modeled after Folse's Vocabulary Myths. Most graduate level textbooks present chapters that are over 30 pages written in extremely formal language, and overloaded with too much information that students get "lost" in the text and ultimately have difficulty recalling crucial points of learning. Conversely, Folse's text propels students to learn and develop an interest in each "vocabulary myth" without the boredom usually associated with typical college texts. Lastly, Folse is EXTREMELY knowledgeable- having traveled, lived, and taught in many countries outside of the United States. His expertise is evident in Vocabulary Myths.

Informative, critical review of conventional wisdom about methods for teaching second language vocabulary

The author contends there are eight commonly-held beliefs about the teaching and acquisition of second language vocabulary that should be considered as "myths" rather than well-founded conclusions. The author draws on his personal experience and his evaluation of the results of research studies of second language teaching and acquisition to: (1) explain the critical importance of vocabulary learning for second language students; (2) critique each of the eight "myths" about vocabulary teaching and learning; and (3) recommend various techniques and methods for teachers to improve their vocabulary instruction.

The book is written in a readable style, and the author's contentions and arguments are fairly easy to follow and understand. The author's recommendations are specific and offer practical advice and guidance about vocabulary instruction for second language teachers. Even if the reader is not persuaded by all of the author's contentions, arguments, and conclusions, it is still a worthwhile book that offers constructive, thought-provoking ideas and suggestions that a language teacher could benefit from. I strongly recommend this book to any English as a Second Language teacher or instructor.

Recently bought and tread the book Vocabulary Myths by Keith S. Folse. The book is an excellent starting point for considering many of the current beliefs in second language acquisition. It provides practical advice based on research, much of it firsthand.

The best HTML5 Canvas Book!

I've read the Core HTML5 Canvas book, the For Dummies HTML5 Canvas book as well as the Canvas spec. This is by-far the best book. The book is very comprehensive and offers good examples. It also takes the time to do the JavaScript right. The book is well organized by topic and does not throw me around like the Core book. It is very in depth unlike the For Dummies book. And it has examples and explanations unlike the official spec.

This is one of the few books that will live on my desk!

Fantastic

Summary

The authors want to present a strong introduction to the HTML5 canvas as well as providing advice, examples, and guided tours through the deeper levels of the canvas. The book is focussed on games because, well, that's why most people want to use canvas! Even so, there is a some very focused material on video/audio/image integration which will also be great for designers.

Fantastic job! To be honest, I hate javascript. I chose this book mostly out of curiousity. But the book is great. From start to finish, there is very little space that is not used wisely. Tons of examples, from simple standard introductions to highly instructive, complex HTML5 games. It's also an excellent tool for becoming a better game developer or programmer in general.

Conclusions

If you already know Javascript or jQuery and are interested in games or html5 apps with canvas content, this an excellent book for that.

Maybe it's me, but I didn't get as much out of this book as I expected. I think I read the first 3 chapters and found some helpful information there, but after that the book quickly launched into gaming aspects and I quit reading. Given the content of the book it should have been titled 'Canvas Gaming' or something like that. It's fine that the book is about gaming, but it was so much about gaming it didn't delve into a lot of the aspects about canvas. For example, aspects like mouse coordinates and canvas position, like relative, absolute, static, etc. I had to look aspects like that, and more, on the internet. I expected those aspects to be covered in the book. The book covered canvas basics, then quickly progressed to complex canvas aspects. It went from foundational things straight into gaming. I hoped it would have contained all the intermediate aspects too. Not everyone wants to develop a game. I don't. I need to develop a canvas for the development of image maps and signature capture. Knowing what I now know about the book I would not have purchased it. I don't think I should buy a book on canvas and then need to search the internet for answers to a bunch of canvas aspects not covered. I wanted a book to avoid that. Looking some uncommon aspects up is expected, but not the majority of those I need. And, maybe some of the aspects I need are HTML5 aspects, but they directly affect the use of canvas and need to be coded up to us canvas correctly and fully, so I expect them to be covered. Again, maybe it's just me, but that's my opinion. So, I gave the book 3 stars for - It's Okay.
