This book is very important for every American to read. Its very sad that most American have know idea on what really happen to make our country what it is today. Its not what you think is important but how react to what you think is. What the fans have been waiting for

I have been looking for a book about the Pretty Little Liars tv show ever since the show began. This is the first and only book I have found. It covers the first 2 seasons. The book covers every episode as well as just about every aspect of the show including cast, characters, facts, etc. The book includes many pictures in both color and b&w. If you are a fan of the series you will want this book.

Liv Spencer's Rosewood Confidential goes in-depth into the first two seasons of the hit ABC Family series Pretty Little Liars. In keeping with the format of other show guides from ECW Press, Rosewood Confidential goes episode by episode with a summary of what happened followed by other tidbits like "extra credit" (explanations of references made in the episode), "slip ups" (mistakes made), and "back to the books" (how Sara Shepard's books relate to the show) among others. At the beginning of the book are the biographies of the main actors; those who play secondary characters are profiled throughout the episode guides. There are also extras like features on the music and wardrobe to break up the standard format a bit.

Spencer definitely did her research on the show, but I didn't always agree with what she deemed "slip ups." For example, she calls it a goof when Hanna claims not to be able to afford a fancy hotel despite her expensive wardrobe in episode 1.03 and again when Hanna says the dance in episode 1.14 is for a good cause even though it's to benefit their class trip. I can explain these (and some of the other so-called slip ups) easily as being very much in character. Hanna's already been established as a shoplifter, so the expensive clothes probably weren't paid for. As for the dance, Hanna's exactly the sort that would think "a good cause" is her own class trip. However, I did appreciate the inclusion (even if it wasn't really a slip up) of an interesting nugget of information regarding episode 1.21. In that episode it seemed weird that the girls kept saying website when they were clearing referring to Facebook. Spencer clears up the mystery by revealing that "website" had to be dubbed in later when the ABC Family lawyers told them they couldn't use Facebook. Little facts like that make Rosewood Confidential a great read.

When I received this book it was again in excellent shape and condition. I just got started watching the series on Netflix and saw that you had the books I had to get them. All received in good condition. Except for one. But nothing major it was used and when a book has a little wear it is a book that was loved and read. Would highly recommend Amazon.

I guess the Queens could be described as love interests but the main character has every opportunity to ...

I have to agree with Joshua Justin on this one the homo erotic nature of the main character with his adopted sons is really weird when the author claims the main character is straight. There is an extreme lack of any strong female characters anywhere in the series, I guess the Queens could be described as love interests but the main character has every opportunity to make any kind of move but doesn't and they seem to be the only females that are mentioned in anything more than a passing glance. I guess the twins mother could be but she is going to be in cold stasis for like 5 years and the main character is planning to drop her off back in wylde feary so that looks like its going no where as well. Most books are a reflection of the author in some way so I'm not sure if the author is struggling with his sexuality or what but for a trilogy that's 2000 pages long to have no romantic interest at all is rather booring, it gives no depth to the main character

sexual undertones throw the story off

I really want to enjoy this series but all of the homoerotic scenes really throw me off. Our protagonist is a good looking straight teen but never flirts or shows any interest in any women and is naked with guys almost every chapter. There's a scene in the book with his adopted 11 year old boys in the shower where they tell him that they'd have sex with him. It was not only unimportant to the story but kind of upsetting as well. It's my only real complaint but it's so distracting.

The author has really found his voice with this book.
I've been consistently happy with his long form story telling, a style that asks you to take your time and enjoy rather than rushing you through from scene to scene. It's a format that requires long books but it is thoroughly worth the effort. I look forward to the next book eagerly

About the Author

Florence L. Denmark is the Robert Scott Pace Distinguished Research Professor at Pace University. A social psychologist who has published extensively on the psychology of women and gender, Professor Denmark has long been an energetic force in advancing psychology internationally. She served as the 88th president of the American Psychological Association and has been a president of the International Council of Psychologists, Eastern Psychological Association, New York State Psychological Association, and Psi Chi. She was also a vice-president of the New York Academy of Sciences. Professor Denmark has four honorary doctorates and is the recipient of many awards, including APA's Distinguished Contributions to Education and Training, Public Interest and the Advancement of International Psychology. She is currently the main representative to the United Nations for both APA and the International Council of Psychologists.

Dr. Vita C. Rabinowitz is Hunter’s 11th Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs.� Dr. Rabinowitz received her doctorate in psychology from Northwestern University and has spent her entire professional life at Hunter College.� She became a faculty member in the Department of Psychology in 1978 and was appointed to CUNY’s doctoral program in psychology in 1989.� She is a social psychologist by training.� The range of her scholarly interests includes the study of women and achievement, gender and health, methodological issues in the study of gender, and dilemmas of helping and coping with adverse outcomes.

About the Author
Arthur P. Bochner is Distinguished University Professor of communication at University of South Florida and one of the leading figures in autoethnography and personal narrative. His most recent book, Coming to Narrative, won best book awards from both the National Communication Association (NCA) Ethnography Division and the International Congress for Qualitative Inquiry. He is coauthor of Understanding Family Communication, coeditor with Carolyn Ellis of two influential edited volumes on interpretive ethnography—Composing Ethnography and Ethnographically Speaking—and coedits the Writing Lives book series. He has authored over 100 refereed articles and book chapters on personal relationships, personal narrative, qualitative methods, and philosophy of communication. Bochner served as president of the National Communication Association in 2008, was elected an NCA Distinguished Scholar, and was honored with the career Legacy Award from the NCA Ethnography Division in 2014. Carolyn Ellis is Distinguished University Professor of communication and sociology at the University of South Florida and one of the leading figures in autoethnography. She was honored with the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award in Qualitative Inquiry from the International Congress for Qualitative Inquiry (ICQI) and with the career Legacy Award from the National Communication Association (NCA) Ethnography Division in 2013. In 2014, the NCA awarded Ellis and Arthur Bochner the Charles H. Woolbert Research Award for their 2000 chapter, “Autoethnography, Personal Narrative, Reflexivity: Researcher as Subject.” In 2015, she was honored with the title of NCA Distinguished Scholar. Her book The Ethnographic I: A Methodological Novel about Autoethnography is the foundational work on autoethnographic methods. Revision: Autoethnographic Reflections on Life and Work (2008) received both the Cooley Award of the Society for the Study of Symbolic Interaction and the outstanding book award from ICQI. Equally well known are her groundbreaking autoethnographic studies Fisher Folk and Final Negotiations. Her current autoethnographic work is with holocaust survivors.

AWESOME SHORT STORY

Ponies, won the 2010 Nebula award for best short story, and I was fortunate enough to hear Kij read it at World Fantasy soon after it came out on Tor.com. This tale is an allegory about growing up, although this one is in a world where all the little girls get pretty winged, talking ponies, but if the girls want to be part of the popular crowd they have to, shall we say, make some changes to their beloved ponies. This is such an awesome story and when I read it in this collection, I heard Kij, in my mind reading it like she did back at World Fantasy, like she was reading a sweet story to kids, when in truth it's a nightmare.

We all give up things to fit in and grow up. For Barbara and her pony, Sunny, the time has come to choose those things. Ponies have three gifts: speech, a magical horn, and wings for flying. Sunny gets to keep one. The rest Barbara must cut out if she is ever to fit in with TheOtherGirls.

It's sort of terrifying. The fact is, given enough time, I think little girls WOULD be willing to give up a magical friend if it allows them to join society as a whole. And the final acts of TheOtherGirls are chilling, leaving the entire story with a desperate, lost feeling.

I'm really enjoying all these irate comments from bronies. :D

Disconcerting while provoking a visceral reaction, "Ponies" has all the qualities of the best writing, Science-Fiction or otherwise. It deserves the Nebula award it won.
While a short piece, I find the price acceptable and so should anyone else who is interested in supporting writers who produce thought-provoking work.
