With each time leap, he comes closer to discovering a use for time travel that could never have imagined.

Real Time Travel, Sensibly Priced

H.G. Wells made time travel sound pretty easy, and many authors have followed suit. Create your machine, turn a dial, and presto, you're some-when else. You're pretty sure when you are, and if you twist the dial back to the original position, you go home. Mr. Stilwell doesn't buy that. In his universe (and probably ours as well) time travel is hard. There's no dial that can get your one day, on month or a million years forward or backward reliably. It's trial and error and error and error. I would have to say that this is a thinking person's time travel novel (No disrespect to Mr. Wells - his works were amazing, just different presuppositions and less available science at the time).

On top of pretty good science, Mr. Stilwell does pretty good fiction as well. His characters have some depth, and they grow through their experiences in the story. I particularly like the development of the AI. I found its growth through the story compelling and believable.

Overall, I'd recommend this book to those who want a different take on time travel. There are other good time travel stories out there, but I think this one offers some unique ideas worth exploring.

If someone wanted to reboot "Lost In Space" please use this book. It is everything time travel is, was,could be and more. Characters are believable. The pace of the book is great and keeps your interest. The ending, surprising.

Excellent time travel novel

Well thought out and well-written. True time travel novel, with developed characters (a little too developed at times). Well worth a read even at a standard $2.99 price level, and certainly as part of kindle unlimited.

Burg (coauthor, The World Almanac of the American Revolution, Pharos, 1992) competently delivers a narrative summary and chronology of major events in the United States and throughout the world during the Depression. He offers seven chapters, each covering one or more years; brief contemporary quotations from politicians, journalists, authors, and advertisements; and 80 black-and-white photographs. The appendixes contain a selection of primary sources, mainly New Deal statutes and other documents, and capsule biographies. The focus is somewhat different from that of existing reference series such as Britannica's "Annals of America," which is stronger on primary sources, and Time-Life's "This Fabulous Century," which offers better photographs. More recent competition comes from Victor Bondi's American Decades, 1930-1939 (Gale, 1995), which has a topical arrangement, a more attractive layout, and greater scope beyond politics but lacks the quotations. Burg has written extensively on American history and gives here a sweeping view of the Great Depression, beginning with causal and catalytic events starting from the Treaty of Versailles and ending with effects and consequences that culminated with World War II.
